CodeMonkey’s CSforALL 2020 commitment

CodeMonkey contributes to the National Computer Science for All Movement for the 4th consecutive year. 

Alongside 126 Organizations Nationwide, CodeMonkey Makes Its New Commitment to Expand Computer Science Education across the United States. 

The CSforALL movement to bring computer science to all US students, marked a major growth milestone today, along with 126 organizations, CodeMonkey has made a new commitment to advance computer science education access and opportunity for youth across the United States at the 2020 CSforALL Commitments Showcase. 

“We are thrilled to be part of a national movement to increase access and equity to computer science for all students as it goes hand in hand with CodeMonkey’s vision. Since COVID-19, CodeMonkey has been adapting and developing its platform to provide the needed tools for both students and teachers to teach and learn Computer Science. Therefore, for this year’s CSforALL commitment, CodeMonkey will provide virtual Professional Development, to not only train but empower educators to be able to teach Computer Science.” stated Jonathan Schor, CEO, CodeMonkey.

CodeMonkey believes that by training, and empowering educators to teach computer science that it will increase the access and equity to computer science for all students. Computer programming is a timeless skillet that lends itself well beyond the wall of the classroom translating into multiple disciplines and areas of life. CodeMonkey believes that learning to program helps students to be global lifelong learners. CodeMonkey continues its tradition to make Computer Science ever more accessible for both students and teachers worldwide.

#CSforALL yearly commitments are new, specific, and measurable actions aimed at advancing the goal of rigorous and inclusive computer science education for all U.S. youth, and are designed to grow support and momentum for a sustainable K-12 computer science education system in and out of school. Notably 29 organizations listed below have made a #CSforALL commitment annually since 2017. To continue the trend, in 2020, 78 organizations have returned to make a commitment at least twice. The commitments detailed below include investments in 34 individual states, three commitments with a nationwide focus, and five commitments with an international focus.
